Message to Government from Happisburgh Singers

Fools, fools, Government fools,
How can we cope when the change all the rules.
To blame global warming not put up a fight,
Give up on old England, well, that can’t be right.
So our Broads one day we’ll be losing
And the sea will flood in at its will.
None of this is of our choosing
And the value of our homes becomes nil
While they plot our fate.

Rats, rats, all of them rats,
Leaving us stranded at drop of their hats.
Taxpayers money they never must waste,
But what of the victims evicted in haste?
No relief for poor landowners,
Cliffs will fall, land will flood, homes be lost.
Heritage that’s gone forever,
No-one’s counting the cost for us,
Nor cares a toss for us.

Shake, shake, shake in your shoes
Take on our Malcolm and you’re gonna lose.
The people are rising. They’ll never give in.
Our wrongs we want righting,
When things get exciting,
With Malcolm we’re fighting to win.
